v.1.590

Changing your login email now actually changes it

The email field in My Account used to update only the address shown on screen, leaving the address you sign in with untouched.

My Account

What this solves

If you edited your email in My Account, the page confirmed the change and showed the new address everywhere — but you still had to sign in with the old one. Anyone who trusted the confirmation found themselves locked out, and some created a second, empty account because the new address was not recognised at sign-in. Notifications could also go to an address that was no longer the one on the account.

What changed

  • My Account now has its own Login Email card, and it is the only place the sign-in address is changed.
  • Changing it sends a confirmation link to the new address. The sign-in address moves only once you open that link, and the card shows a reminder while confirmation is still pending.
  • The email shown in the Profile and Contact cards is now read-only and always matches the address you actually sign in with.
  • "Send reset link" now always sends to your real sign-in address.
  • Accounts whose displayed address had already drifted from their sign-in address have been put back in step.

Where to find it

My Account → Profile tab → the Login Email card.

Useful for

Anyone moving to a new work address, and teams whose members change name or company domain and need notifications to keep arriving.
